Classical Strings : Solo Violin
The solo violin option is ideal for occasions such as wedding
proposals and ceremonies, surprise birthday celebrations and
anniversaries.
The gentle melodic sounds of the violin also lends itself well to small
intimate gatherings of people, especially if the venue is perhaps a
small room, entrance hall or conservatory.
Due to the versatile nature of the instrument, the violin can easily
play a selection of different styles if you so wish.
In addition to the traditional classical favourites, such as ‘Meditation
from Thais’ by Massenet, Paganini’s 24th Caprice, Elgar’s ‘Salut d’Amour’
and ‘Chanson de Matin’, you can also incorporate popular jazz themes,
music from films, love songs and the popular sounds of Cornish, Irish
and Scottish folk tunes. The choice is yours! For example, a bride once
walked down the aisle to ‘Dancing Queen’ by Abba!
For a wedding ceremony this entails playing as the guests arrive, playing for the bride to
walk in, providing music for the signing of the registers, playing for
the
bride and groom to walk out, and to play as the guests leave the
ceremony.
I play a selection of popular light classics, such as Vivaldi's Four
Seasons, Bach's Air on a G String, Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik,
Handel's
Watermusic/ Royal Fireworks etc. We have played for many weddings over
the
years, and this music does provide a stylish and elegant atmosphere for
the
occasion.
