String Quartets Cornwall - Wedding Music

Our music brought tears of happiness to the Bride

The Classical Strings Trio performed at Alverton Manor for a wedding which included a mix of popular classical pieces, Celtic tunes to entertain the Bride’s Irish relatives, and a special arrangement of the Groom’s favourite song.

Despite the weather being grey and overcast, The Alverton was such a cosy venue, that everyone’s spirits were lifted as soon as they all arrived. The hotel was a former convent, and the architecture and gorgeous gardens added to the romance and magic of the occasion.

The ceremony was held in the Great Hall, and was followed by drinks in the Library.

As the guests arrived we performed music from Handel’s the Royal Firework and Watermusic Suites, Bach’s Air in G and the Flower Duet from Lakme.

The Bride made her Entrance to the popular Pachelbel’s Kanon, which sounded wonderful as the music filled the high ceiling of the Great Hall.

The music performed during the Signing of the Register was ‘Danny Boy’ – which was a huge hit with the Bride’s family – and ‘Annie’s Song’, which complimented the Irish folk tune perfectly.

The Bride and Groom made their Exit to our special arrangement of the Groom’s favourite song – ‘All these things that I’ve done’ by The Killers, which provided an uplifting and funky conclusion to the ceremony!

Our varied programme of music provided an enjoyable and much appreciated feature during the drinks in the Library. The great thing about a String ensemble, is that the music carries well in the venue, but the guests are still able to chat to each other without having to raise their voices to be heard.

Our music included love songs such as ‘Your Song’ by Elton John, film music from Indiana Jones, and Mamma Mia by Abba, which was especially enjoyed by the children who began to dance up and down to it! We finished off with the rousing Irish tune Drowsy Maggie, before the guests filed out to enjoy their wedding breakfast.

It was an absolute pleasure to receive an email from the happy couple the very next day, just before they went off on their Honeymoon:

‘Your music was amazing and added that extra touch to make our day perfect. It brought tears of happiness to my eyes, thank you so much!’

This was wonderful feedback, and is the reason why we love our job so much – it’s so rewarding adding that touch of musical magic to every occasion to make it special.
