Far From The Madding Crowd Theme Performed by Cornwall Violinist Sue Aston

Solo Violin Performance of ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’
Filmed at St Just in Roseland Cornwall.

Here’s a clip of me warming up to get ready to play at a wedding blessing at St Just in Roseland church. I was very honoured that the couple and their lovely daughter arrived along with the guests to sit and hear me play before the ceremony started!

They even had a little dance, which was so special!

The solo violin option is ideal for weddings and ceremonies, surprise birthday celebrations and anniversaries.

The gentle melodic sounds of the violin also lends itself well to small intimate gatherings of people, especially if the venue is a small room, entrance hall, small church or conservatory.

Due to the versatile nature of the instrument, the violin can easily play a selection of different styles if you so wish. The violin performance is unaccompanied, I prefer to enjoy the natural sound of the violin and make the most of the acoustics of the room, rather than play with a backing track. This way I can easily be in control of the performance – playing softer if necessary and drawing the music to a close during the ceremony, for example. It also means that I can quickly adapt and play anything to suit the mood and atmosphere of the occasion without being hindered by operating any extra equipment. With the rise of Eco Weddings, I do not need to use electricity!
